Research with REAR Lab

Check out my academic and volunteer work from the time I spent with the Rehabilitation Engineering and Applied Research (REAR) Laboratory at Georgia Tech!

Many of my projects were designed for rapid prototyping so the designs could be quickly catered to the individual user and 3D printed or fabricated using household tools.

My research from the REAR Lab involved studying manual wheelchairs to compare how well they rolled over common surfaces. The most common differences between a "good" and "bad" wheelchair may surprise you!

Mechanical, Electrical, and more!

Most of my education (Clarkson University '16 and Georgia Tech '20) revolved around Mechanical Engineering, BioEngineering, and Rehabilitation Engineering. The "fun stuff" for me, though, is mechatronics!

A lot of my side projects and hobbies involve developing my own circuitry and mechanisms to make something cool happen when I press a button.

Keeping Samhain alive!

Halloween is my favorite holiday, and it lasts from September 1 to November 30 in my household every year (sometimes even longer than that!).

I spend a LOT of time designing sets and costumes for a "haunt" (not quite a haunted house, but close) in Decatur, GA every year. It is a passion project for all of us. With every year being a different theme, there is always something new to look forward to, and so many cool props to prototype! I hope to inspire others to find that same level of passion in their craft, whatever it may be.

Please check out some of our pictures, and stop by and see us on Oct 31st!

UNC Asheville's Belk Theatre

Since November 2023, I've been working as the Technical Director at the Belk Theatre on UNC Asheville's campus. I've upgraded the Scene Shop capabilities with some fun new "toys" (3D modeling software, a CNC router, and a laser!) to make set design as quick and efficient as ever.

Theatre may put grey hairs on my head sometimes, but it keeps me entertained every single day and gives me the creative outlet I've always wanted.

For many good causes

Check out my work with some amazing organizations over the years! If you see something that interests you, please reach out - I'd love to put you in touch with someone and get you involved in these great causes, too!
